Cornerstone was awesome. Michael came out and gave me an estimate that was fair and showed great attention to detail. They were flexible when I injured myself and had to delay the job for a while and still honored their original estimate. Brianda was communicative and helpful getting scheduled and Andiego did an awesome job on the actual repair up on the roof. We had a few vents replaced and several nails sealed that hadn't been driven in properly during the initial roof install. We weren't sure if the roof was the original one from 2000. We got a roof replacement quote from one company with the cheapest option being $22,000. We wanted multiple quotes so, after looking at Yelp reviews, we contacted Cornerstone Roofing. Mike (from Cornerstone) came today to give us a quote. After getting up on the roof, he came down and let us know that our roof looks great and does not need to be replaced. He explained what materials he saw that showed it was a newer roof and listed all the features that were put in when it was replaced. He gave us the name of the shingle company and let us know we probably still had a warranty through them. He even followed up after he came, saying he looked up satellite images and the roof was probably replaced in 2016/2017. I had already contacted the shingle company to ask about the warranty and, Mike was right, the roof had been replaced in 2016. We now have a warranty we can use if an issue with our roof comes up and we know that we do not need to replace our roof for many years. Mike saved us a minimum of $22,000. I can't speak to the quality of Cornerstone Roofing's work (only because we didn't end up needing it) but I can speak to the honesty, integrity and knowledge of their employees.Posted on Google

I was highly impressed with the Cornerstone Roofing team from start to finish! I reached out to about 7 different local roofing companies – including Cornerstone – for bids on a full roof replacement project. Big shout-out to Mike Little, our Cornerstone estimator, who provided us with all the details we needed to review multiple quotes and make an informed decision on next steps. I never felt any pressure to choose Cornerstone (unlike with some other roofing companies), but we ultimately went with them because their pricing, scope of work, customer service, and responsiveness over email/phone calls were all exceptional and stood above their competition. They replaced our whole roof, installed some new sheathing, updated a skylight, improved our venting system, and did a magnetic sweep of the property before they left at project completion. The crew worked hard, interacted with us kindly, cleaned up after themselves, and finished the project in 2 days. They were prompt the whole way through! They also checked in with me on a couple occasions to make sure everything was progressing as desired and to give me a run-down of the updated price estimate before they installed new sheathing. Big shout-out to Vicente and his crew, along with Jim and Diego, for all the great work, for keeping the project on track, for communicating so professionally along the way, and for the helpful QC checks at the end of the week. Everyone at the company kept me informed of the process and timing. The only reminder they needed from me was to send the completed photos. The "On the Roof" crew was wonderful. They waited on site for one whole day hoping the weather would clear, but it never cleared enough to start. The next two days the weather was perfect - amazing for February. The first day a crew of three worked nine hours to have the roof cleared and sealed for the night. Their prep work was better than expected. They had thick plastic sheeting on the ground and plywood up against the garage doors to protect them from anything that might bounce against them. After removing the two skylights they immediately covered the openings. At night they replaced the skylights over the temporary covers. The next day the crew was down to two. They worked for six solid hours to lay the shingles and clean up the area before taking a break. I'm sure they wanted to get the job done before any unexpected rain showers. On both days they did a great job of cleaning both the roof and ground areas. On the workmanship side of the project they were careful and exact. They replaced, sealed, and painted all the plumbing vents and gas furnace chimney. The roof looks great too. I requested 3 free quotes from well-respected roofers and Cornerstone’s was the most prompt and by far the most professional and detailed. And it was considerably less money than the competition. The staff was great at communication throughout the process, including when needing to reschedule due to rain. And at the end, when the recent rain produced mud splatters on some of our windows, they went above and beyond to arrange cleaning. One note is to make sure to request photos of the finished roof from the manager on the day the roof is QC inspected (easier for submitting proof to insurance, which resulting in a premium deduction). That experience was positive, so we reached out to get a quote to replace our entire roof as it was reaching the end of its lifespan. My next-door neighbor and I both requested quotes from Cornerstone for our roof replacements. Our estimates were very thorough, detailed, and delivered quickly. My neighbor's brother-in-law works in the construction industry and when asked about Cornerstone, he commented that they have a great reputation and that others in the industry had used them for roofing work. Leading up to the start of construction, the construction manager detailed what to expect during the work, when materials would arrive, and when the work should be completed. The construction crew arrived on time each day and put in a tremendous amount of work. They were professional, courteous, and did meticulous cleanup after the end of the day. They worked so hard that our old roof was removed and the new one replaced in just a day and a half. Our new roof looks amazing, and has numerous upgrades over the original roof. From the first meeting with the estimator to the ongoing communication with the company about the schedule, everyone was polite, respectful, and on time. Our estimator did not try to upsell us on their products and was thorough when providing us information about our various choices. We had an old cedar shake roof that needed to be removed with underlying plywood decking also needing replacement. When ripping off the old roof, one of our first floor screens ripped and the company quickly and seamlessly honored the pricing for its replacement. The customer service was exceptional. The roofers were careful to protect our plants and shrubs and did a fine job cleaning up each day. Our new roof looks great--we purchased the Presidential Shake TL (an asphalt composite) with an exceptional warranty. Honestly, we didn't have high expectations as it's difficult to find someone to do a roof repair as most companies aren't interested in small jobs, and it being a holiday week we expected to have a difficult time finding someone. However, less than an hour after we called a person showed up (sorry I don't remember his name ) and assessed the situation. He said he would return around 2:00 to attempt to fix the leak as it was forecasted to stop raining at that time. Well, at 1:50 he showed up and got right to work. He spent about an hour working, finished the job, and cleaned. Communication with the office was great, and the price was very reasonable. We received 6 bids and chose Cornerstone as they were the most professional, helpful and accommodating. Cost was also favorable and absolute, unlike other bids, that had extras not included. We had obtained quotes from several roofing companies, and liked Cornerstone the best. Their salesperson Dave was very knowledgeable and transparent. He took care to outline the pros and cons of repair vs replacement and made sure didn't feel rushed into any decision. This company has been around a long time, and it's apparent they take the long view with maintaining client trust. Cornerstone offered a variety of roof shingles from different leading companies, which is something not every roof company does. This company came recommended by a friend. Dave was also one of the few salespeople we met who willingly climbed on the roof and into the attic to gauge the work. He recommended a molding company to fix an attic issue, and we're glad that was discovered and handled. Since they're a popular company, we had to wait a month or so for the work which was acceptable to us, and in the meantime they tarped parts of the roof where there was a leak. Craig led the installation of the new roof. Due to icy January conditions, a small area of material got wet and they immediately replaced it to give us peace of mind. They replaced our gutter and attic vents. There was wood under the roof that had to be replaced as well, which they did. The result was a good-looking roof and peace of mind! I couldn't tell if it was potentially a gutter vs. flashing vs. roof issue. Since what prompted my original roof replacement was a somewhat similar leak I figured I should have it checked out. Called Cornerstone and without hesitation Lenny from the repair division came out to inspect the next day! He felt the flashing/roof work looked good but identified that my gutter nail in that area was back-angled towards the house and thought that water might be running along the nail and seeping in-between the gutter and fascia. While Cornerstone did not replace my gutters with my roof replacement Lenny graciously worked to seal the gutter nail area with silicone where it penetrates the fascia. He also took the time to look at other areas around the house and identified a few more places and helped seal those as well. What I really appreciate is that Cornerstone STOOD BY THEIR PLEDGE TO GUARANTEE THEIR WORKMANSHIP and even went beyond in my case. Further, Lenny clearly cared to help me - he brought his expertise (I wouldn't have thought about a back sloping gutter nail) and what took him just a little bit of time saved me potentially having to have a gutter service come out or try to do it myself (homeowners and ladders can be a bad combo). Lenny could've just said "it's not the roof" and took off but he didn't and he again demonstrated what I originally posted - In my experience, Cornerstone and its employees care about their customer's homes and satisfaction. They go the extra mile because it is the right thing to do. Even after going above and beyond Lenny asked "Is there anything else I can do for you today?". We had numerous roofing contractors out to give bids and these guys price was in the ballpark, competitive PLUS they were willing to do the work that needed to be done and replace decking and make repairs as needed. The company has a warantee you can purchase for a good price in addition to there's a warrantee that came with our shinigles- and we actually got it in the mail. I will recommend them to others, so glad we found them! It's nice to deal with HONEST people! Dave the estimator was super great. Quality at a fair price."Posted on Angie's List1295 days agoI selected a bid from Eastside Roofing out of three bids Spring 2022 because it was $3k less on a $36,000 dollar job. What a mistake. I should have hired Cornerstone in the first place. My next roofing job we needed, I had Cornerstone roof our double wide and deep garage Spring 2023. What a difference a roofer made. The courtesous and respectful salesman had more than 20 years experience on the roofs of houses as part of the crew before selling anything and the company's crew is top notch professional. Here are the differences that came standard with Cornerstone that the other roofer didn't do at all: 1) The ops manager assured the dumbster was ordered, playwood to protect our driveway was placed and I was in agreement with the placement of it. 2) The next day, the ops manager checked in with me in the morning on my doorstep and on time. 3) The crew's first thing to do was to lay plastic on the ground to collect debris. 4) A safety manager showed up not too long after and posted a notice of the nearest medical clinic address and phone and observed for a while. 5) The job was finished on time and no one was at the door to collect a fee. 6) The next week the A/R personnel phoned, was kind and assured I was pleased. They emailed an invocie for the balance. The other roofer scribbled on the original bid. 7) I received a 25 year guarantee with a letter in the mail from Cornerstone asssuring me of the quality of their workmanship and how they back it up. 8) Cornerstone registered my shingles with the manufacture and I received a 30 year guarantee from the manufacture a few weeks later. {all 8 of these things didn't occur with the first job and I had to pay Cornerstone to fix the things the other roofer left behind} Hire them in the first place. The estimator Mike L. came out with a ladder and he wasn't a salesman or snarky. He was very matter of fact and to the point, it was quite refreshing. You could tell he's a construction guy and I don't speak "roofing" so yeah, heading in the right direction. He gave us his suggestion for the shingle type and man was he right. Then he sent us a packet outlining everything with pictures, insurance info, material type etc. Very professional outfit. I'll fast forward to completion...So now the new roof is on and it looks 100%...Then they come out again with a magnetic rolling thing to make sure there's no nails around the house...I thought that was pretty cool but at first I was like "umm why are they here?" Then they come out the next day to do a final inspection!?!? The guy was here for three hours on the roof making sure nothing was missed. Talk about under promising and over delivering. Remember that? Then I get a call from their office verifying our info because they are submitting our warranty info for us. Yes really! With the existing shakes now 21 years old, our house was beyond ready for a new roof, so we contacted Cornerstone again. To select them, I had references from an independent source, looked at other homes they worked on, utilized Angie's List reviews, and reviewed the CertainTeed website. The Cornerstone proposal was very comprehensive and provided us with a lot of confidence our new roof would be installed professionally with no cutting of corners. We found the installation crew to be very conscientious and hard workers. There was one small glitch that the management crew jumped on quickly so as not to be a concern on our part. The final inspection of the roof was done by Juan, who was incredibly meticulous in double-checking to be sure all the terms specified in the contract were complied with (metal flashing and gable vent closures are a couple examples). All-in-all, Cornerstone did not disappoint. We've used them for 2 houses, the second a complete reroof including tons of repair on a rehab we bought in 2001. There was not a single scrap of debris or nail on the ground when they were done. Last year a gutter cleaning company noticed some damage and fascia issues with the gutters. Not related to workmanship at all, just trees too close and had done some damage and the gutter company hadn't used the right hardware all those years ago. I called Cornerstone, James came out and took a look, they did a full day or repairs and despite being 8 years out of warranty, barely charged a thing. Oh, and when we had them out to put a couple of additional vents in the roof when we had bathroom fans installed, same thing. It was a couple of years after we bought it, they came out promptly and did a great job. They have a sister company that did my roof cleaning and moss a few years ago. When I had the gutters done last year the guy couldn't believe the roof was 18 years old. Sorry so long winded, I could go on and on. Let's just say no one else will ever do roofing for me. I was quite impressed with everyone from Dave (customer contact, estimator), to the roofing crew, to Juan (final detail work, final inspection & cleanup). Each performed his job with professionalism, and demonstrated competence and attention to detail. Dave reviewed aerial photographs of my house prior to our appointment and had prepared an annotated plan view schematic of my roof - complete with notes about the size and location of skylights, vents, etc. - and a detailed cost estimate. Although now an estimator and customer contact, he had been a roofer for 15 years or so - so is very knowledgeable. He had sample tiles, under-layment fabrics, etc. with him and used these items to highlight the differences in products, describe how Cornerstone would perform the work, how long the work would take, etc. He didn’t try to “hard sell” or push the expensive stuff – saying that the PRO or Premium shingles were likely all that I’d need. He indicated that, for the time being, my roof is fine - that it should be good for few more years. A few days later he provided a detailed competitive estimate complete with photos of the roof and notes about the work. The roofers arrived at the job site each day on time, beavered away into late in the day to quickly remove my old roof and install a new one, and ensured that the job site was tidy after each day's work. After the roofers were finished, Juan (another “ex-roofer”) arrived to perform any needed 'detail' work (trim flashings, etc.), ensure that the site was tidy, and perform a final inspection of the roof with me in tow - to ensure that I was completely satisfied with the materials and work. Highly recommended …Posted on Angie's List2949 days agoWe had a great experience all through the process, and were amazed that Cornerstone was able to remove and replace the roofing in just three days. We got quotes from three roofing companies. Cornerstone was in about the middle of the range of quotes, and had the most detailed outline of work to be done. It was clear to us that they had best thought through all of the potential problem areas. They were able to start work 7 weeks after we got the quote, which was good timing. They kept us appraised of when the work would start and what we needed to do to prepare (remove cars from the garage, etc.). A crew of seven men were here for two days. The first day a roofing supply company delivered the plywood and flashing, and then a Cornerstone crew of seven men removed all of the cement tiles and took multiple dump truck loads to recycling. They also installed plywood over the whole roof. That first day, the crew worked about 12 hours. The operations manager, Craig, came by several times to check progress and handled any questions we had. For example, I was concerned about the insulation coverage in some areas of the roof that was inaccessible from the attic. He assured me that they could add insulation if I would provide it. After the tiles were off, I checked and found that the insulation was OK. The second day, a large crane truck delivered the shingles and put them up on the roof. The Cornerstone crew worked about 13 hours that day, and got the entire roof shingled. They cleaned up all of the debris at the end of each day and blew off grit from inside the garage, the deck, and the driveway. That is one hard-working and competent crew! The third day, just one person worked for about 5 hours, checking all of the work done, and added some flashing and caulking. Another young man came out the next day to do a final cleanup, and used a device to check the entire yard for metal debris, nails, etc. The Cornerstone crew removed some of the old gutters and all of the gutter caps. They contracted with Gutter King to finish the removal and install new gutters and Versa-Guard gutter covers. Craig was able to check with Gutter King to get the right color of gutters. They came out the next week to install the gutters, which took two to three men two days to complete. Our house has clerestory windows with roof areas above and below, and part of the top roof had never had gutters. Gutter King installed new gutters at the proper height around all of the top and lower roof, and added the Versa-Guard covers. They did a superb job, using a machine that bends a sheet of aluminum from a roll to the exact lengths needed. We are extremely pleased with the whole job, and greatly relieved that the leak problems and poor gutters are a thing of the past. Cornerstone has a 25-year transferrable warranty that we purchased, which is also guaranteed by the shingle manufacturer. They also included more in their bid than other roofing companies we contacted (for example, the vent stack for our heating system was old and rusting, they replaced it and painted it to match the roof. Other companies suggested we have someone else replace it). We were very impressed with the clean up they did and also with the gentleman who did the final inspection. The only issue we had was a communication issue. The roofers couldn't come one day, which we did not have a problem with. The problem we had was that we had to call and email to find out what was going on.
